Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday decided to set arena for Pakistan’s domestic Twenty20 tournament in Lahore which is scheduled to be played between December 2 and 10.
In a statement, PCB announced to stage Faysal Bank T20 2012 cup in Lahore instead of Karachi because of the volatile situation in Sindh’s capital.
Karachi, which was most likely to be the venue for the enthralling tournament as per the initial reports, missed out mainly because PCB was not satisfied with the deteriorating law and order situation of the city.
The much awaited tournament matches will be played on three different grounds of Lahore including Gaddafi Stadium, Bagh-e-Jinnah and LCCA. Six matches will be played on each day of the group stages.
Lahore will be hosting the event for the fourth time, including the inaugural edition in 2005 and to overcome the winter dew of Lahore (Punjab), the timings of the matches will not be prolonged to the later part of the evening.
