Karachi: In order to prevent mishap and manage law and order situation in Pakistan, the Interior ministry has suspended mobile phone services in 49 major cities of the country.
According to official reports, the cellular service in as many as 49 major cities was suspended on Saturday morning at about 5:45 am and will remain in effect till 12:00am.
The cities where cellular service are suspended and will remain for next two days include Karachi, Hyderabad, Â Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Attock, Rahimyar Khan, Muzaffargarh, Gujranwala, DG Khan, Bhakkar, Sargodha, Jhang, Nankana, Larkana, Khairpur, Nosheroferoz, Nowshehra, Mansehra, Charsadda, Harripur, Kohat, Mardan, Tank, Bango, DI Khan, Quetta, Kallat, Kohlu and Gilgitbiltistan.
Earlier, interior minister Rehman Malik also advised the people to avoid using motorcycles in next two days in a bid to avert any terror attacks.
