Islamabad: The Pakistan’s interior ministry has not placed names of Dr Arsalan Iftikahr, a son of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, and property tycoon Malik Riaz, on Exit Control List (ECL) instead of a request from Shoaib Suddle commission, investigating the Arsal-Riaz case.
According to Shoaib Suddle commission, the interior ministry had not placed the names of both the persons on the ECL and the interior secretary might inform the commission in this regard till November 26.
Sources said that according to Shoaib Suddle commission evidences were found about Dr Arsalan spending Rs4.5 million in London. However, Arsalan Iftikahr claimed that he had returned the money.
The Suddle commission had asked the interior ministry to put the names of both the persons on the ECL. The sources said the commission had the right to initiate contempt of court proceedings if its orders were not implemented.
