Peshawar: Surrounded by countless militants and unending war, tribes of Takht Kai, Wadi-e-Tirah Khyber agency have successfully made their area safe by installing landmines all around the area.
Wadi-e-tirah is under control of four militant organisations including Lashkar -e-Islam, Ansar-ul-Islam, Tauheed-e-Islam and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan; but none of them is able to control Takht Kai.
The area is still peaceful amid unrest swaying the whole tribal belt. The area is facing war and deadly fights between security forces and militants from Bajaur agency to South Waziristan.
According Nai Baat newspaper, people of the area usually have to walk to cover long distances as there are no roads and transportations. They use mules for transporting general goods.
Takht Kai area could be called a green area as locals, very loyal to Pakistan, have hoisted green flags at their homes besides blocking militants’ entry in the area.
The tribesmen of the area do armed patrolling and installed landmines around their land of peace. To make their transportation safe and unharmed, they have made a narrow passage between mountains for entrance and they guard it to avoid trespassing.
But the million dollar question is that such tactics as adopted by Takht Kai area could be adopted in others areas or not to make the whole tribal belt a land of peace.
