Islamabad: US Deputy Chief of Mission Richard Hoagland on Thursday lauded Pakistan’s decision to release Afghan Taliban saying the country can perform vital role in the Afghan reconciliation.
While talking to reporters in Islamabad, Hoagland said that the US had already asked Afghan government to pursue the reconciliation process with the Taliban.
He stressed upon the release of those groups who abide the law of Afghan government, adding that only those Taliban will be accepted who agree to follow Afghan government laws.
“The groups who will lay their arms to safeguard human rights especially women’s rights can become the part of the reconciliation process,” he added.
