Karachi: The Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) has terminated the membership of APNA channel after representative of the channel Sarfaraz Shah failed to respond to show cause notice sent to it last month.
PBA cancelled APNA channel’s membership by a majority of 13 to one during the meeting of its board of directors held on Sunday, according to a press release.
The meeting also decided to remove Shah from PBA’s board of directors.
It also expressed concern over the delay in the audit of PBA accounts and holding a meeting for approving the accounts and electing new directors.
The meeting was attended by board members Muhammad Aslam Kazi (KTN), Shakeel Masud Hussain (Dawn News), Arshad A Zubari (Aaj TV), Tahir A Khan (TV One), and Duraid Qureshi (HUM TV), Zaheeruddin Khan (Geo TV), Sultan Ali Lakhani (Express News), Saleem Adil (CNBC), Haji Muhammad Iqbal (ARY), Jergees Seja (ARY), Kamran Wajih (PTV), Maqsood Hasan (Dhoom TV), Sher Asfand Yar Khan (FM-107), Mehdi Raza (FM-107), Shazya Amin (FM-91) and Obaidur Rahman (FM-89).
