Islamabad: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf reiterated his government’s resolve to hold free and fair general elections next year in the country.
“There is election activity prevailing in the country and it would be a mile stone for the PPP government what it has been achieved during its 5 year in office,” Radio Pakistan quoted him saying at the cabinet meeting in Islamabad.
The PM was of the view that the holding of transparent elections was the right of the people, a thing which is doubted by opposition parties including Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz and newly emerged Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf.
“It is PPP coalition government’s one point agenda to arrange transparent elections in any manner.”
