Lahore: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Umer Ata Bandial has remarked that the objections of Sindh and Khyber Pkhtoonkhwa over the Kalabagh dam are political.
While hearing petitions pertaining Kalabagh dam on Thursday, the chief justice said that the objections of Sindh and Khyber Pkhtoonkhwa over the construction of Kalabagh dam were political, adding that such objections could be changed through the dialogues.
“The construction of the dam can be in national interest,” the CJ said.
The CJ observed that the global warming had increased the floods, adding that the water reservoirs were necessary to store the flood waters.
The court later adjourned the hearing of the case till October 30.
