Islamabad: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has assured the Supreme Court Pakistan that Tauqeer Sadiq — the former chairman Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) — will be arrested soon.
The NAB officials during the hearing of Ogra malpractices case in the Supreme Court of Pakistan also express regret over inclusion of a financial lawmaker firm in the investigation.
The bureau also told the three-member bench of the SC headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry that the Inspector General Punjab and the Inspector General Islamabad were fully cooperating with the NAB to arrest Sadiq. “Teams has been formed to arrest Tauqeer Sadiq…hopefully he will be arrested soon.”
A case against six people including Tauqeer Sadiq, Mir Kamal Farid Bajarani, Mansoor Muzaffar, Jawad Jamil, Shahzad Bhatti, Dewan Zia-ur-Rehman has been registered in this regard, the NAB said.
The NAB’s prosecutor also regretted in the court for including Manto and Mirza firm in the investigation of the case and said that he will personally regret to the firm.
The court later adjourned the hearing of the case for two weeks.
