Karachi: A Pakistan People’s Party local leader was gunned down in Karachi on Tuesday.
According to reports, unknown armed men riding a bike opened fire at Sajjad Balti in North Karachi area within the remits of Shara-e-Norr Jehan and managed to flee.
Balti sustained five bullets and died on the spot. His body was taken to a government-run medical facility for autopsy.
However, a private television reported the PPP leader was targeted by a 9mm pistol, the arm which is being used in most of the targeted killings in the city.
The TV said four more bodies have been recovered from the different parts of Karachi.
