Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that dual nationality is not a crime but the ban on dual national lawmakers should be respected.
Talking to media outside Lahore airport after an official visit of three countries, Shahbaz said that millions of overseas Pakistanis were assets of the country because they contribute in the country’s economy by sending remittances from abroad. “Parliamentarians should respect the law if there is a ban on holding dual nationality,” he added.
He termed his visit to Turkey, Germany and London as successful and said that his visit would increase the foreign investment in the province.
He also strongly condemned the attack on Malala Yousafzai and said that the Punjab government would bear all the expenses on her treatment.
