Islamabad: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) warplanes kept hovering over Abbottabad for sixteen minutes following a call from the Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani on May, 2,2011, said Dunya News while quoting a report compiled by a commission, probing the US raid that killed Osama bin Laden.
The TV said according to the commission’s report the F-16 jet fighters took off two hours after General Kayani called PAF authorities after receiving information regarding the US intrusion on May 2.’
According to the fact finding commission all the PAF operational installations were taken underground during the US operation. It said that the two F-16 aircraft kept flying for 16 minutes.
Osama bin Laden was killed on May 2 last year during a US raid in Abbottabad.
