New York: Renowned author JK Rowling has said she would write another Harry Potter book provided she gets “a fabulous idea”.
IN the interview to BBC on the occasion of publication of her new book, “The Casual Vacancy”, Rowling said that now she doesn’t need to write for money, adding she can focus on writing something creative for her readers.
She said she would again write the Harry Potter series if she came up with a plot that met those criteria.
“Harry Potter truly liberated me in the sense that there’s only one reason to write, for me — if I genuinely have something I want to say, and I want to publish it,” she said. “Now if I had a fabulous idea that came out of that world — because I loved writing it — I’d do it.”
If Rowling goes ahead with the plan, it would be great news for her and Harry Potter’s fans.
However, her newest book “The Casual Vacancy” is her first adult novel. The book hits shelves on Thursday.
Booksellers are predicting the novel would make vast sales.
“I would be very surprised if it wasn’t the biggest book of the year, but we’re not talking Harry Potter levels,” said Jon Howells at Waterstones, according to The Guardian. “We’re expecting early visitors – but I don’t think they’ll be dressed as Hagrid. Probably a lot will be die-hard Harry Potter fans who are now adults.”
