Geneva: Pakistan’s permanent representative in United Nations (UN), Hussain Haroon Thursday expressed reservations of Pakistan on the anti-Islam film, Innocence of Muslims and said that Muslims will not tolerate any attack on the honour of Prophet (PBUH).
In a letter written to UN chief Ban ki-Moon, the Haroon said that it was the responsibility of the UN to stop such immoral activities across the globe against Islam.
A resolution has also been submitted in United Nations (UN) against the anti-Islam film.
Earlier, U.N. Secretary-General Wednesday condemned the maker of anti-Islam film, Innocence of Muslims, and said that the producer abused his right to freedom of expression by making the movie, which he called a “disgraceful and shameful act.”
Thousands of Pakistanis clashed with police firing live rounds and tear gas Thursday as anger mounted in the Muslim world over a US-made anti-Islam film and French cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).
Up to 50 people were injured as police drove back thousands of protesters, many armed with wooden clubs, trying to storm Islamabad’s heavily-guarded diplomatic enclave — home to Western embassies including the US, British and French missions.
