Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has said that Punjab’s next chief minister would be a Jiala.
Talking to Deputy Prime Minister Pervez Elahi, who met him on Friday, the president said that Chief Minister House in Punjab would echo with the slogans of Jiye Buhtto (Long live Bhutto).
He said that he would himself attend public meetings in Punjab as part of Pakistan People’s Party’s election campaign and first such procession would be held in Mandi Bahauddin.
Zardari said that a board would be formed to decide over awarding party tickets. He, however, added that old party workers would be considered first in this regard.
He asked PPP workers not to worry due to propaganda of opponents and start establishing contacts with people as they were dearer to him rather than government.
