Townsville: India U-19 on Monday defeated Pakistan U-19 team in quarterfinal of International Cricket Council Under-19 World Cup by 1 wicket.
Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first. Pakistan’s Skipper opener batsman Baber Azam was the only top scorer with 50 runs while lower order batsman Ehsan Adil made 35. Pakistan was restricted to 136 runs.
India’s Sandeep Sharma took 3 wickets for 24 while Ravikant Singh also took 3 wickets for 43.
In reply, India’s middle order batsman Baba Aparajith was the top scorer with 51 runs while middle order batsman Vijay Zol made 36 leads India victory over Green shirts. India accomplished the target in 48 overs.
Pakistan’s Zia-ul-Haq took 3 wickets for 23 runs while Azizullah also took 3 wickets for 30 runs.
With this victory over Pakistan, India have qualified for semi final.
