Buenos Aires: The largest lemon nursery was confirmed by Guinness World Records this week in Tucumán, Argentina with 551,227 lemon plants.
The record-holding Vivero Citrus (vivero means nursery in Spanish) is located in the Quebranto de Lules and owned by José Luis Palacios.
Mr. Palacios applied to break the Guinness World Records record for the largest lemon nursery after developing this nursery for 35 years.
Tucumán is the smallest province in Argentina but it is the largest producer of lemons in the world.
The fields surrounding the capital of the province, San Miguel de Tucumán, are full of orchards and nurseries producing sugar cane, strawberries and lemons.
