Islamabad: The ruling coalition partners were seen in action after Supreme Court of Pakistan summoned Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on August 27 for not implementing its order of writing a letter to the Swiss authorities to open the graft cases.
PM Raja Pervez Ashraf Wednesday hosted an Iftar Dinner at the Prime Minister House in the honour of lawmakers, in order to huddle together and join heads to face the new development.
Parliamentarians belonging to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and allied parties and members of the Opposition parties were also present on the occasion.
The Iftar Dinner was also attended by Chairman and Deputy Chairman Senate, Acting Speaker of the National Assembly, federal ministers, Governors Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan, Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Meanwhile former prime minister and President PML (Q) Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Deputy Prime Minister, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi also called on President Asif Ali Zardari here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday night.
Situation after SC’s show-causing PM Raja Ashfraf topped the meeting agenda, whereas coalition matters were also discussed at length.
