Karachi: Pakistanis like news covering sensational scandals the most while surfing various news categories, reveals an interesting behavioral survey of Pakistan’s web readers.
According to a Survey on News reading habit of Pakistanis by The News Tribe, when it comes to reading news the most preferred type of news for Pakistani people is scandals.
A total of 1207 people voted in the survey based on the question ‘What sort of news attracts you the most?’
Eight types of news were given as choice including Scandals, Achievement of fellow countrymen, sports, entertainment, research studies, technology, amazing, media and TV anchors.
The ascending order of the reader choice regarding news is as follow:
1. Scandals
About 19 percent of readers say that they would prefer reading any sensational news based on any scandal.
2. Achievements of fellow countrymen
With a marginal different in percentage, about 18.7 percent people say they would like to read news covering achievements, in any area, of their fellow countrymen.
3. Sports
Third choice is sports for the readers. About 15 percent voters say they like reading news on sports events.
4. Entertainment
Surprisingly style or entertainment, considered to be a highly attractive category, gets the fourth place. As many as 11 percent are of the opinion that would like to read news on entertainment.
5. Research Studies
An interesting thing is the placement of news based on research studies. With getting votes of about 10 percent, stories on research studies gets the fifth place.
6. Technology
With global reading habit of technology news and bits are getting higher with tiime, Pakistanis seem less interested yet in news about technology trends and events. About 9.8 percent say they would prefer reading news on technology.
7. Amazing
Showing their interest in weird and amazing events around the world, 9.6 percent people say they like reading news that amazed them.
8. Media and TV anchors
Despite a surge in interest about media and TV anchors after Media Gate Scandal in Pakistan, it seems to be preferred the least as only 6 percent voters say they would give priority reading news on them.
