Ankara: As many as 48 people have been killed across Syria today (Saturday) as rebel fighters brace themselves for major regime forces’ crackdown to get back hold of Aleppo, country’s economic hub and the biggest city.

Some reports suggest the Bashar-al-Assad forces have launched offensive with tanks moving in and helicopters flying over the city.
Activists and western powers have warned of massacre in Aleppo as regime forces and rebels braced themselves for heavy loss of lives.
Rebels claimed to have destroyed many tanks, however, their claimed could not be verified by the Independent sources.
