Quetta: Baloch Republican Party (BRP) has welcomed the United Nation’s decision to send a working group on arbitrary detentions to Pakistan in September.
“The UN should have taken this decision long ago but it is always “better late than never”. The working group should not limit herself to only Islamabad and paper work but should, along with other human rights organizations, gain access to the no-go zones in Balochistan and investigate the deteriorating situation and gross human rights violations there, said a BRP press release here on Monday.
“The working group’s visit will start in September this year and it has sent a application to the Pakistani government for the visit but we fear that it, first of all, will not be allowed for the visit and if allowed will be faced by state-made hurdles to stop it from exposing the state atrocities, war crimes, arbitrary abductions, extra-judicial killings, kill and dump and extensive human rights violations in Balochistan perpetrated by the state forces,” it added.
“We appeal to the working group not to settle up its reports through the governmental figures and limit itself to Islamabad. They should visit Balochistan especially the no-go zones including Dera Bugti, Sui, and Kohlu where the worst crimes against humanity are committed on daily basis by the state forces against innocent Baloch people. Hundreds of thousands Baloch people from these areas migrated to other parts of Balochistan and Pakistan by the massive military operations but they continue to remain vulnerable to the attacks of forces.”
“Besides, Baloch Republican Partys hails and encourage the Baloch women who joined the party from Tump area of Turbat and we believe every Baloch men and women must unite and play their role for the national liberation of Baloch and Balochistan,” it read.
