Libya’s interim government has demanded of Pakistan to change the name of one its cricket stadium named after Libya’s former strongman Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.
The foreign office has received a letter from the Libyan government and so far it has not conveyed its reply.
It is to mention here that a cricket stadium, which hosted World Cup 1996 final, was named After Gaddafi during the Islamic Conference held in Lahore.
Gaddafi, who was killed last year in the armed rebellion against his decades long rule, was considered a closest friend of the Pakistan People’s Party chairman and first elected prime minister of the country Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
