Islamabad: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf chaired meeting to review law and order in Balochistan and implementation of Aghaz-e-Huqooq-e-Balochistan package.
The prime minister said that resolving the Balochistan’s problems was his priority, adding that he had invited Baloch leaders to hold talks with the government.
Ashraf has sought a meeting on Tuesday to review the Balochistan issue. Accoring to sources Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lt.Gen Zaheerul Islam, IG Balochistan and Frontier Corps Inspector General Maj-Gen Ubaidullah Khan Khattak would also attend the meeting chaired by Law Minister Farooq Hameed Naik.
The prime minisgter stressed the need to monitor role law enforcement agencies operating in Balochistan.
He said Rs 2 billion had been allocated for purchasing modern equipment and arms for police and Balochistan Levies. The PM said that 300 more people would be recruited for Levies.
