Lahore: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the Jamat-e-Islamai haveĀ agreed to build up pressure against the government.
In a joint press conference held after the meeting of PTI Chairman Imran Khan and JI Amer Munawar Hassan , both the leaders said they discussed minimum agenda on which the parties were already agreed. Both the leaders expressed the resolve to protect the Supreme Court of Pakistan. They said they were worried that government and corrupt elements might harm the apex court like they did a few days ago, referring to Malik Riaz-Arsalan Iftikhar case.
Ā PTI chairman dispelled any possibility to form an alliance with the forces of status quo sitting in the Parliament. However, he avoided to comment on whether both the parties were going to make an alliance in the next general election.
He said he didn’t seeĀ general election taking place in the near future, however, he consider new polls only way to get rid of crisis gripping the country.
Munwwar Hassan and Imran Khan demanded that a list of those killed in the US drone attacks be published, besides, demanding a halt in the attacks.
Both leaders were in agreement that there should be no role of armed forces in forming government in the country.
Hassan said that both JI and PTI were already united on some issues.
