Rawalpindi: An hour before becoming the prime minister of Pakistan, Raja PervezĀ Ashraf left his residence in Rawalpindi amid sloganeering andĀ intensive drum beating by his supporters.
TV channels kept playing the old song of Lata Mangashkar “Raja Ki Aye Ge Baraat” all day long with airing his photos.
Ashraf who is known as Raja Rental in Pakistan for his involvement in rental power corruption, was chosen by the Pakistan People’s Party as its candidate for the post of prime minister a day before National Assembly session when the army-led ANF got arrest warrants for Makhdoom Shahabuddin.
Speaking to media without hiding his happiness, he said he was able to fulfill the desires of Pakistani people.
