Islamabad: Real estate tycoon Malik Riaz on Monday filed a plea in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, seeking orders for strict security during his appearance before the court on June 21 as he is receiving threats and his life was at stake.
In his plea, the tycoon alleged that he was threatened by some lawyers during his last appearance, of misbehaviour on next hearing.
He stated that he was being vilified and a media campaign was being run to provoke the people against him.
Riaz said since he was a text payer and a respected man in real estate business, foolproof security was his right.
He noted that the Supreme Court Registrar and law enforcement agencies be directed to make security arrangements so that he could present his case without any fear.
The Bahria Town founder said both his life and reputation were at stake.
