Lahore: Seems to be a bid to gain social media insights over its use in weaving political strategy, a Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf team meets Eric Schmidit, founder and CEO Google, the person behind Barrack Obama’s social media campaign in 2008.
PTI is believed to be running a very organized and planned social media campaign paving way for Imran Khan landing to the seat of prime minister of the country.
Eric Schmidt, Executive Chairman of Google, is on his first ever visit to Pakistan with visibly avoiding any counter with media.
From PTI’s side Vice President PTI Shah Mehmood Qureishi, Secretary General Dr. Arif Alvi, Information secretary Shafqat Mehmood, and Senior members like Salman Danish and Dr. Awab Alvi talks with Schmidt.
The issues discussed were the prospects of using electronic and social media platforms in Pakistan.
The meeting also discussed technological help needed in conducting free and fair elections in Pakistan and shed light upon how to improve the use of digital technology to empower the people of Pakistan.
PTI has taken this initiative to have transparent, free and fair elections in Pakistan, said a press release by the party on Friday.
