Hambantota: Pakistani bowlers, instead of worst show by their batsmen, once again succeeded in gaining a victory against Sri Lanka on their homeland as they defeated Sri Lanka by 23 runs in the second T20 match of the series played at Hambantota International Cricket Stadium, Hambantota, Sri Lanka, ultimately leveling the series by 1-1.
The Sri Lanka batsmen failed to survive the furious Pakistani bowling attack and got out at 99 runs in the last over. None of the Lankan batsmen were able to cross 20’s as Kapugedera who scored 19 runs remained the leading run-scorer for them followed by Dilshan and Thirimanne 18, Chandimal 12 and Mathews 11.
The Pakistani bowlers bowled exceptionally well to help their team defend a lowest scoring target in their history and gave no chance to Sri Lankan batsmen to free their arms. Yasir Arafat and Mohammad Sami who took three wickets remained the leading wicket-taker followed by Afridi 2 while Ajmal and Tanvir shared one wicket each.
Earlier blistering innings of 52 runs on 33 balls by Shahid Afridi helped Pakistani team to set a low but a reasonable target.
