Islamabad: The United Nations has expressed concern over the Supreme Court’s procedure of taking suo motu notice, Dawn news channel reported on Tuesday.
According to the Dawn News, a UN report has stated that the country’s top court has been carrying out vague proceedings into its suo motu cases that could undermine the procedure of the practice.
The UN also pointed fingers to the role of Federal Shariat Court, saying the presence of the FSC was creating complications in the judicial system.
It said the suo motu cases could linger on other cases pending in the court. The UN noted that there were several post, lying vacant in the high courts.
The UN said that the courts in Pakistan were lacking basic facilities.
