Islamabad: Top leaders of major political parties passed a 15-point resolution unanimously at National Conference on Balochistan, calling to end the ongoing military operation in the province on Saturday.
The leaders called for a dialogue with all stakeholders to resolve the province’s difficulties and withdrawal of military and paramilitary troops from Balochistan at the conference organised by the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA).
The main problem in Balochistan is of missing persons which could only be addressed by political forces, SCBA President Yaseen Azad in his opening remarks.
Imran Khan, chief of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, said political parties don’t have to waste to achieve their own goals as Balochistan issue is a matter of life and death for Pakistan.
PML-Q Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Syed said that the Balochistan problem is spreading to other parts of the country. “We have to tackle it with a serious sense of responsibility. No one is taking responsibility for deteriorated law and order situation in the province.”
Former president of Supreme Court Bar Association Asma Jahangir said the solution of the issue was vested with the political parties and they should take immediate initiatives.
Qazi Hussain Ahmed, former Amir of Jamaat-i-Islami, said a society could not survive without justice and enforcement of Constitution could ensure all fundamental rights and provincial autonomy. Rights of Baloch people over natural resources should be fully acknowledged, he said.
Dr Abdul Malik, President National Party said: “Balochistan is an integral part of Pakistan and we have to find out solution by dialogue with all the stakeholders.”
Deputy Chairman Pakhtoonkhawa Milli Awami Party Abdur Rahim Mandokhel said dictatorial regimes created all the problems and now it is the duty of political leadership to address them.
President Hazara National Jirga Abdul Qayyum Chengezi said free, fair and impartial elections are the solution.
President JUI-F Balochistan Maulana Mohammad Khan Sherani said problems of Balochistan need a united national solution according to the teachings of Islam.
