Oslo: Norwegian killer Anders Breivik who brutally killed 77 last year said he would not appeal against the Oslo’s court judgment if it declared him sane.
Earlier, Breivik had confessed to the killings so the main aim of the proceedings is to find about his mental state. Two previous psychological assessments have reached contradicting conclusions.
Sky News reported that during the trial he said he was ‘mentally damaged’ after listening to days of witness statements.
Breivik told the court, “I spend a lot of energy hiding my emotions, and I am very tired when I get back to prison.”
“There is absolutely no reason to appeal if I am declared criminally accountable,” he said, directing his comments to the judges.
At the end of the trial, five-judge bench will decide if Breivik is insane or criminally accountable for the act.
