Karachi: Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) on Wednesday forecast heavy rainfall in Karachi and other parts of Pakistan.
The met department said that light and heavy rain, is expected from Thursday due to low air pressure in the Gulf of Oman, will continue for two days.
Commissioner Karachi, Roshan Ali Sheikh has directed KMC, DMC, Cantonment Board and KPT to make an emergency plan in view of the expected stormy rain in the mega-metropolis here.
Commissioner Karachi, Roshan Ali Sheikh has ordered all the concerned departments’ staff to ensure their presence in view of the expected torrential rain.
The Commissioner has further directed that the control room should operate for 24 hours and pumps for draining out water should be kept ready. Directives have also been issued for the formation of rapid response teams.
