London: The counsel of Pakistan’s cricketer Mohammed Asif, who was convicted in spot-fixing scandal in London, on Friday said that Asif would be freed in the first week of May.
Talking to media, Asif’s lawyer Ravi Sukul said that although an exact date was not announced but he would be released in the first week of the May.
“We would challenge any decision regarding Asif’s deportation from UK in the courts,” he said adding that petitions were also filed in International Arbitrary Court and courts in UK to prove the cricketer’s innocence.
It is to be mentioned that Pakistan three cricketers Mohammad Asif, Mohammed Amir and Salman Butt were indicted in spot-fixing allegations by a Crown court in Britan and were sent to jail.
