Rawalpindi: As a bid to hold fair party elections, Pakistani Tehrik e Insaaf (PTI) has dissolved provincial bodies of Punjab and KyberPukhtoonKhwa provinces.
“All the regional bodies of the party have been dissolved across Punjab and KPK,” PTI spokesman Zahid Hussain Kazmi said.
“Ten members committees have been set up to run the affairs besides assuring holding of election after completing their preparations.”
Zahid noted that the new membership campaign of PTI was underway and a target of 5 million had been set.
“We are expecting that membership could surpass the set target to upto 10 million,” he hoped.
To a question about the party election, he said in the first phase leadership at union council would be elected and then towns, provincial and central leaderships would be chosen.
“PTI has become the strongest political force of the country and the voters would now elect new and old politician only on the base of merit.”
