Karachi: Pakistan Disaster Management (PDM) has issued a warning in coastal areas of Sindh province including Karachi.
The PDM has also directed the fishermen to return from the open sea.
Earlier, The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center warned that tsunami waves generated after 8.7 earthquake near Indonesian Ache could hit Pakistani coastal cities Gwadar and Karachi.
The center forecast that estimated tsunami waves may arrive at 1536Z in Gwadar and at 1644Z in Karachi on April 11.

Actual arrival times may differ and the initial wave may not be the largest. A tsunami is a series of waves and the time between successive waves can be five minutes to one hour.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Meteorological Department Director Arif Mehmood has said that height of tides is expected to go high in Pakistan coastal areas.
