Karachi: Unidentified armed men opened fire and killed at least three policemen in Karachi, a metropolitan of Pakistan, sources said on Thursday.
The sources said that unidentified armed men opened fire on a mobile van in PIB Colony area of Karachi.
“The policemen were appointed as guardsmen outside the house of Ali Ahmed Magsi, whose name was put in ECL for alleged involvement in MQM Sector member murder,” sources said.
The policemen were identified as ASI Dhani Baksh, Constable Nisar and Akram.
The dead bodies of the deceased were shifted to a local hospital. Police and Rangers were summoned in PIB Colony in order to carry out a search operation for the culprits.
It is to be mentioned here that several people including Mansoor Mukhtar, a sector member of Muttahida Quami Movement were killed in the recent violence across PIB Colony.
