Tehran: Iran is officially celebrating 1391 Nawruz or New Persian as symbolic cannoning announces starts of the day with vows to fight Western sanctions on the country.
The day is considered one of the most celebrated events in Iran. Before Nawruz arrives scenes like people in crowds with friends and family shopping and preparing are common.
The celebration of The New Persian Year has different colors of joy:
First color is Khune Tekuni, or Spring Cleaning. It includes washing homes and home items like carpets, floors , and almost the entire house.
Second color is buying new clothes and accessories to enjoy the event. It is thought as ‘money-making’ season by business owners.
As a symbol of nature’s rebirth, the 13-days long celebrations of Nowruz begins on the first day of spring every year.
Third dimension of Nowruz is to visit homes of relatives and then receive visits from the relatives.
Fourth color is increase in tourism in the country as Iranians Iranians visit different parts of the country.
United Nations’s General Assembly also recognizes Nowruz as a spring festival of the Persian.
Nawruz is also celebrated in many countries including Afghanistan, Albania, Republic of Azerbaijan, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
