Islamabad: Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said that it seems like government is passing time on Balochistan issue.
The remarks came during the hearing of a case pertaining to law and order situation in Balochistan.
An SC bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudry was hearing the case. “Who stopped government from establishing its writ in Balochistan,” the CJ remarked.
He said that the issue could be resolved If elders in the province are taken on board.
The CJ remarked that the government was doing nothing other than producing reports.
The Supreme Court also sought report from IG Sindh regarding murder of Domki family.
Advocate General Balochistan told the apex court that situation in the province was improving while incidents of kidnapping for ransom were also on decline.
The court directed him to produce a detailed report in this regard and adjourned the hearing to March 22.
