Lahore: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) legislators in the Punjab Assembly held Raja Riaz responsible for the defeat of their candidate Aslam Gill on Senate’s seat, sources said on Tuesday.
The sources said that the consensus developed in the meeting of PPP’s parliamentary party, Punjab, presided by Faryal Talpur, sister of President Asif Ali Zardari.
Faryal Talpur was given responsibility by President Zardari to investigate into the defeat of PPP candidate Aslam Gill.
The sources revealed that majority of the PPP leaders held Raja Riaz responsible for the defeat of the senator and demanded to sack him from the post of PPP’s parliamentary leader in Punjab Assembly.
