Islamabad: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman Malik has assured foolproof security arrangements to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) during their tour to Pakistan.
Flanked with BCB chairman Mustafa Kamal and PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf in a press briefing, Malik said that special security would be provided to Bangladesh team during their visit to Pakistan.
” The team would be provided security at all venues in Pakistan and till their departure,” he said adding that Bangladeshi delegation should feel Pakistan as their second home.
On the occasion, BCB chairman Mustafa Kamal said that they were visiting Pakistan to scrutinize the security measures during series between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
“We are assured regarding fool proof security measurements by Pakistan.”
Kamal said that Bangladesh and Pakistan boards have stronger ties evident from Pakistan support in getting recognized Bangladeshi team in International Cricket Council (ICC).
“BCB will try its level best to convince ICC to resume cricket in Pakistan,” he added.
Kamal said that they know that it was painful for Pakistani crowd to be away from international cricket in Pakistan. He was hopeful that international cricket would resume soon in Pakistan.
The Pakistani stadiums have not witnessed international cricket since 2009, after an attack by terrorists on the bus of Srilankan cricket team.
