Multan: The United States (US) Counsel General in Lahore Nina Maria Fite said that the PAK-Iran gas pipeline project should be abandoned for the time being.
Addressing at Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Fite said that US would continue to help and support Pakistan in every walk of life.
Fite further said that it would be the decision of Pakistani government that at what levels they wanted to build relations with their neighbors.
Earlier on Wednesday, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has warned Pakistan that they would face serious consequences if they continued to deal with Tehran because Obama administration is moving swiftly to impose tough new sanctions on Iran amid concerns in Congress that the White House will not be aggressive enough in cracking down on financial institutions that do business with Tehran’s Central Bank.
