Lahore: Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir has refused to appeal against the five year ban by the International Cricket Council (ICC), media reports said on Thursday.
The ICC in a statement said that Pakistani fast bowler Mohammed Amir in a written statement had informed ICC that he would not appeal in the International Arbitration Court against the decision of ICC.
On Thursday Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf said that Amir was an asset of Pakistan cricket and his appeal would be considered.
Talking to media after the meeting of PCB governing board Ashraf said that Amir was a talented bowler and he had the ability to become the world’s best bowler.
Ashraf further announced the new selection committee for Pakistan cricket team which comprises Iqbal Qasim as chief selector along with Saleem Jaffer, Azhar Khan, Farrukh Zaman and Asif Baloch as members of selection committee.
