Karachi: All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association (Apotoa) ended their strike on Tuesday after the assurances of government to resolve the dispute of supply of edible oil across Pakistan.
Chairman Apotoa, Haji Akram Durrani said that they had resumed the supplies of oil and petroleum products after the assurances given by home secretary Sindh.
Akram said that government had assured the release of their 12 people and to solve the dispute of supply of edible oil till Feb 28. “The camp of protestors will remain on Bin Qasim until the approval of demands,” he added.
The Apotoa on Monday called for a strike and abandoned the supply of oil and petroleum products across Pakistan against the disputes on the transportation of edible oil as the deadline of 72 hours lapsed.
The suspension in the supply had caused hike in the prices and shortage of oil and ghee products.
