Islamabad:The Chief Justice has remarked if the memo was just a piece of paper as to why an important meeting was held in Prime Minister’s house, resignation was taken from Hussain Haqqani and a probe was ordered by the prime minister.
Attorney General told the court that a meeting on December 22 was held in PM House over memo issue where Haqqani tendered resignation and subsequently a notification was issued other day.
The CJ remarked that Mansoor Ijaz was still stick  to his statement and he had also given 31 screened pictures from his Black Berry . He added that both the persons the one who was leveling allegation and the other being alleged were demanding inquiry. The CJ remarked the nation was united that country’s integrity and sovereignty should not be compromised.
The Attorney General Pakistan Maulvi Anwarul Haq told the Supreme Court of Pakistan not to hear the memogate case as the memo was a vague document, as the nine-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry resumed hearing into the case.
Justice Shakirullah Jan remarked that the army chief was declaring the memo as serious matter with regard to national security while the government was terming it as bundle of lies.
Justice Jawwad S Khuwaja said it had become necessary to hear the case to ascertain whether memo was reality or a fake document.
The CJ asked attorney general to clearify as to why the SC should not hear the case while the apex court was also hearing ZAB case after 30 years.

Hussain Haqqani’s lawyer Asma Jahangir on Tuesday argued in the Supreme Court of Pakistan that the memogate issue was not related to basic human rights and all the petitions should be rejected in this regard as they were not hearable.
A nine-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing the case.
She said that the ISI was not an investigation agency and the spymasters should not probe the matter.
Mrs. Jahangir claimed the ISI had declared Wali Khan and Benazir Bhutto as traitors.
She said that the word memo was not found in Black Berry messages of Mansoor Ijaz. She added that Ijaz had also wrote against Pakistani institutions.
Chief Justice remarked the court would give orders if people moved it. Jahangir said that removing ISI chief and army chief was prime minister’s prerogative and the SC should not interfere.
She said that country’s nuclear programme should be in the control of the president and the prime minister as it was created by the civil ruler not by the army.
The hearing was adjourned till Wednesday.
