Karachi: The Pakistan People’s Party government is mulling over to remove Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani and ISI chief Lieutenant General Ahmed Shuja Pasha at the behest of US authorities, a Pakistani newspaper reported on Monday.
According to the report, the government is angry over the duo’s depositions in the Supreme Court of Pakistan over the memogate issue that embarrassed the civilian government and their strict stance towards US and Nato after the Mohmand attack that killed 24 soldiers.
It added that the removal of Kayani and Pasha is part of promises made by the government in the alleged memo.
The report said that the US is supporting the PPP government and pledging financial support if it removes the duo.
The report added that the removal of powerful military chief and the ISI honcho would pave the way for the US to fulfill its agenda.
