Pakistan Blog Awards 2011

Karachi: Bloggers from all over Pakistan attended the Pakistan Bloggers Awards 2011. The ceremony took place at a local hotel in Karachi, in which the Chairman of PTI Imran Khan made a dramatic appearance.

While speaking to the audience Imran Khan said that Karachi will witness the biggest change on 25th December 2011. He said that a tsunami of change is coming in Pakistan, due to which father is in one political party, whereas their family members are joining PTI.

On the blogs front, the best social activist award was given to My bit for change, a blog by Dr. Aisha Aijaz. The best blog by a journalist was awarded to Beena Sarwar’s Journeys to Democracy, whereas best political coverage award was given to Ali K. Chisti.

TV anchor Faisal Qureshi, social activist Abid Beli, President PASHA Jehan Ara, Google Pakistan Country Manager Badar Khushnood and several others from the social arena and media industry attended the event.

Acknowledging bloggers in Pakistan, Imran Khan said that a ‘silent revolution’ is building up in Pakistan and that the bloggers are a vital part of the revolution.
