Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday ordered the Federal Board of Revenue to take action against those responsible in NATO missing container case.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing the case. FBR Chairman Salman Siddique said cases related to commercial containers had been forwarded to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The chief justice said several cases with directions were handed over to NAB but to no avail.
Justice Tariq Pervez remarked that the NAB didn’t want to  take any action, adding that it only wanted to prosecute.
NAB Prosecutor Akbar Tarar said the department was dealing with some major scandals and lack of required staff was creating hurdles in achieving desired results..
The FBR chief said his department was ready to provide its staff to the NAB to assist it.
The CJ remarked that the issue could not be resolved unless the FBR chief oversaw it.
