Karachi: Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Hussain Wasan has said that the government has no objection over the Pakistan Tehree-K-e-Insaf rally in Karachi but it was not authorize to give it permission for holding rally at the Quaid’s Mausoleum.
Talking to media after a meeting with PTI leader Dr Arif Alvi here on Wednesday , he said that the Management Board of Quaid’s was under the authority of the federal government and the provincial government would seek permission for the PTI rally on Mausoleum premises.
The home minister said the PTI application was rejected by the federal government but he had asked Dr Alvi to again send the request.
Wasan said that he had asked the PTI to hold rally at the Tibet Center or Nishter Park but Imran Khan refused to hold rally at any venue other than Quaid’s Mausoleum, adding that all possible security arrangements would be made for the rally.
Speaking on the occasion, PTI leader Arif Alvi said that he was thankful to the Sindh home minister for his cooperation. He added that Nishter Park or Tibet Center were not suitable for the rally as hundreds of thousand people were to participate.
He said that the PTI didn’t want to become a football between the federal and provincial governments in seeking permission for the rally venue.
