Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has sought reply from 38 persons, including President Aisf Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman and governors of four provinces in NRO implementation case.
Others who have been asked to submit their reply also included chief secretaries and law secretaries of the four provinces.
The court has asked them to submit reply as to why its verdict into the NRO case was not implemented despite it had stricken down the controversial NRO in December 2009 and also set aside government plea’s challenging the court verdict.
The apex court would take up the issue in the first week of next month.
The National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) was promulgated by former military ruler General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf.
