Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Aitzaz Ahsan has said that the government should allow Imran Khan to hold rally in front of Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum on December 25.
Talking to media on Wednesday, he said that if the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was not given permission for holding rally in Karachi, the impression would emerge that the major parties like the PPP and the MQM were afraid of Imran Khan.
Ahsan said that late Benazir Bhutto had also been holding rallies at the same venue in the past and he had participated in several such rallies.
He said that the PTI has emerged as the third political force in the country.
The prominent lawyer said that the government should allow the PTI before any political pressure was exerted Altaf Hussain.
Replying a query Ahsan said that Supreme Court orders would have to be implemented, however, he said head of the state enjoyed immunity under international law.
